2012 BEACH HOP

Beach Hop 2012 is the 12th anniversary of this spectacular event. It is to be held in Whangamata between 28th March & 1st April 2012 with most of the major events on Saturday 31st March.

There are a number of fun events held during the day that Coastal Rockers have organised in conjunction with the Beach Hop committee.

On Saturday morning the Grand Parade will be lead by the Coastal Rockers Rock’n’Roll Club.

We will be assembling at the Whangamata Club in Port Road at 9.15 am for the march along to the roundabout by the Fire Station where we will proceed the length of the shopping area to the next roundabout stopping regularly to dance in the street.

We are inviting all other clubs to join us dressed in club colours with their banners and balloons etc. We have a mobile sound system to provide the dance music. If your club wishes to participate please contact the secretary by email or post.

Following the parade between approximately 11.00 am and 12.30 pm we are holding a mystery spot prize dance in the carpark next to the Council Building where chosen dance couples will win a spot prize.

Saturday Night at the Club.
Coastal Rockers committee & members have recognised that everyone attending Beach Hop need to be closer to the action, giving them the freedom to visit other venues and check out the other bands, as well as the parade of cars doing their night cruise.

Our night time event in the past had combined our annual Birthday Hop.  However, to provide dancers flexibility and choice to circulate, our role will be ancillary Saturday night.

While we will not be celebrating our Birthday Hop, Coastal Rockers will at the Whangamata Club Saturday night dance, and welcome you all from far and wide to join us for some rocking good fun dancing to traditional 50's and 60's music.

There are no tickets to purchase, or pay a cover charge, just show up and rock on in.

The Whangamata Club offers a full range of bar & restaurant facilities.
Come and join us as we turn back the years.
